Åland – The Hidden Gem of Finland

If you are tired of touristy and famous places I have good news for you. Imagine exploring 6500 islands with just 30 000 inhabitants. Clear waters and sky, wild forests and green meadows full of flowers. You can see moose, seals, raccoon dogs and eagles.  That all and more is Åland, the only Swedish talking autonomous part of Finland.

This lovely archipelago is hiding in the Baltic sea, and people concentrate mostly on the capital Mariehamn. Even though not many know about Åland, it is a place with rich nightlife, summer festivals, and interesting history.
